Rob's Fieldbus Pages
Welcome to the Fieldbus Reference List, now entering its second year in existence since I started this webpage which is now collecting almost 1000 hits per month.. To my surprise the number of systems I collected is still growing, now nearing 270 since the latest addition of ISO 11783, CAN Calibration Protocol, and the CC-Link protocol.

Romilly's HART® and Fieldbus Web Site
HART (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) is a digital communication protocol which operates on top of a conventional 4-to-20mA current loop signal from a measurement device - a transmitter - or to a valve positioner. HART uses a low-level frequency-shift-keyed sine-wave signal to convey the digital communication. Also tracks Fieldbus info.

WorldFIP
WorldFIP is a registered non-profit organisation, which exists to promote the development and application of an open fieldbus, that is well placed to form the basis of the future International Standard. The WorldFIP Board is composed of a mixture of vendors, end-users and third-parties such as academic/research organisations, which helps to keep the evolution of WorldFIP on a path that will meet the declared aims.

Fieldbus From Wikipedia
A Fieldbus is an industrial network system for real-time distributed control. A complex automated industrial system - say a manufacturing assembly line - usually needs an organized hierarchy of controller systems to function. In this hierarchy there is usually a Human Machine Interface (HMI) at the top, where an operator can monitor or operate the system. This is typically linked to a middle layer of programmable logic controllers (PLC)...

Foundation Fieldbus Overview
This chapter gives a short overview of Foundation Fieldbus and describes the parts of a Foundation Fieldbus network. Refer to the Glossary for more explanation of Fieldbus terms and concepts. The generic term fieldbus refers to any bus that connects to field devices. This includes Foundation Fieldbus, NI-CAN, DNET, and Profibus. In this manual, the term Fieldbus refers specifically to the Foundation Fieldbus.

AVR picoPower™ Technology - The Ultimate Low Power Solution

Embedded applications normally spend their time either in active or in sleep mode – some periods the CPU is running code and processing something while the rest of the time the microcontroller is waiting or idling and should stay in a low power mode. With more and more portable and hand-held applications, wireless networks and sensors, and battery operated appliances, sleep modes have become important. Nevertheless it is equally important that the MCU is able to deliver performance without ruining the power budget while the CPU is active. Atmel's picoPower™ technology saves energy while maintaining MCU performance. picoPower enabled microcontrollers incorporate a number of techniques for reducing the power consumption in both active and sleep modes and still react quickly from any sleep mode.
